THE ARTIST AS TEACHER; NANCY BOSSERT OF ATELIER 51

I am an artist, a mother, a wife, a college instructor, a
forever student... That is a beginning. I am a mother of three
children, all in their 20's, two still in college. I rarely sit
still, absolutely loving the process of creating and exploring
new drawing and painting techniques. I also love to create
jewelry. I am extremely conscientious of my craftsmanship and
pride myself on using only archival materials. I also do all my
own matting and framing to insure that everything is done
properly. I teach privately in my studio preparing students for
the college admission process and for portfolio development.
With this process I also do all their slide work. Sometimes I
think working with the pre-college student is a job in itself,
but the rewards are extremely satisfying.

I hold a Masters in Painting and teach for DeSales University.
At the University I teach all hands-on classes including
watercolor, painting, sculpture, mixed-media. Additionally, I
teach art history including Ancient and Primitive, Renaissance
and Baroque, and Art of the US. I am represented by three
galleries and have three art representatives. (Oh, yes, two
cats, a pond of fish, and a new puppy round me out I find that
everything is a source for a painting if you are willing to see
it!) And that beauty truly is in the eyes of the beholder as we
all see differently.

The next show of my work opens September 22, 2005 and it is a
pure Drawing exhibition in Pennsylvania.
