The Kindigs have this to say about their Ruby Lane shop: "Garrison House Books has maintained an on-line presence since 1997. We are a general interest used, rare, and out-of-print bookstore based in the quaint Victorian town of Medina, Ohio. American history, children's books and ephemera intrigue us most, but we buy and maintain books and paper in all categories.

We are Tess and Eric Kindig, married forever, and passionate about books, bookselling and readers. Tess has been a newspaper reporter, magazine writer, and public relations director, and is still a working author with 13 published books to her credit. Eric owns Log Cabin Inc. in Lodi, Ohio, an 8,000-plus square foot retail establishment specializing in historical books and reenactment accoutrements. In addition to his remarkable ability to schlep large piles of books from hither to yon, Eric brings over 30 years of retail experience to this endeavor!

Also, joining our staff is our beloved Bookshop Cat, Mickey who is basically a street thug gone soft and lazy. We believe that books are treasures, not commodities, and that readers are individuals, not numbers. Our greatest joy is in getting to know you and serving you with grace and good humor. Welcome to new Ruby Lane shop owner, Tony Crespo of Glorious Ruins Antiques. While he just opened his virtual doors at Ruby Lane last month, he shares this information about his experience: "We've been in the business of selling antiques for over 35 years; operating our own retail shop and serving the South Florida community for over ten years. A few years after selling our retail shop I was appointed senior buyer for Sloans auction house and during my tenure I was privileged to have traveled extensively throughout Europe and South and Central America purchasing only the finest antiques and fine arts."

One fine example from Glorious Ruins Antiques is "A spectacular combination of this very Rare French Savonery fragment with petit point.The central medallion is crafted in the most extremely tight knot stitch which looks like a painting! ...absolutely superb craftsmanship which we know has become increasingly extinct! The deep red floral motifs framing a central medallion containing this magnificent 18th c finely-stitched pictorial representing Zeus and Hera. Zeus is represented with the eagle and shiver and Hera is represented by the elegant peacock you see to her right side, appears to be a Romantic scene. The colors are faded gold, browns with gray-blue and burgundy (these are just some of the colors)."
